3 Bogota - Trip to the colonial town of Villa de Leyva

After breakfast, we will begin our journey north through the history-laden region of Boyacá. The entire region is known for its colonial buildings and the lively atmosphere of each of the towns, which are characterized by a pleasantly mild climate. After a four-hour drive, you will arrive in Villa de Leyva, one of the most beautiful colonial towns in Latin America. There you will check into your hotel and then have time to explore the town on your own.

You will join a bike tour to see all the highlights of Villa de Leyva. You will start at a meeting point in town and during the ride you will learn more about the history and culture and admire the beautiful rock formations and turquoise lakes. You will also visit two museums where fossils found in the region are exhibited. You will also learn about the Muisca culture and visit the famous Casa Terrcotta and the Aim Karim Winery. Afterwards, you can venture up the 7-kilometer climb to the Ecce Homo Monastery, known for its spectacular gardens and colonial history museum.
5 Villa de Leyva - Barichara Colombia City of Barichara

In the morning we will pick you up at your hotel and drive about 3.5 hours to Barichara. After checking in at your hotel, you will drive approximately 1 hour to the Juan Curi waterfall in the afternoon. After a short walk of about 20 minutes, you will arrive at the 180 m high waterfall, which splashes several levels into a small pool, where you can take a swim. Back in Barichara, you will have the afternoon free to explore the town on your own.

In the morning, after breakfast, you will start the 5.5 km hike from Barichara to Guane, a small village where the Guane Indians still live. The so-called "Camino Real" runs downhill most of the time, enjoying a magnificent view of the mountains, pastures and forests. The road was once created by the German Georg Lengerke to connect several villages in the department of Santander for commercial transportation purposes. After arriving there, head to the town square where a driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel in La Mesa de los Santos/Bucaramanga.

There your driver will be waiting for you to take you to one of the romantic coffee plantations. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Today you will experience traditional coffee culture at a typical Colombian coffee farm where the award-winning La Morelia coffee is produced. After a relaxed welcome with a delicious cup of coffee, you will learn all about coffee production. You will observe the harvesting of the beans and learn how the farmers recognize ripe beans. Then it's on to the peeling, washing, fermenting and drying of the beans, before learning in the roastery how the beans are roasted, ground and packaged in preparation for distribution to customers and suppliers. Finally, a professional barista invites you to see how he prepares a good espresso, cappuccino, macchiato and mocachina. In the process, you will experience the various traditional and non-traditional ways of drinking coffee from around the world.

After approximately 6 hours of travel, you will arrive at the bus terminal in Medellin and will be transferred by a driver to your hotel, where you will spend the next two nights.

Today's program includes a morning city tour of Medellin. The "Turibus" will take you to several stops where you can get off and get on again later. Medellin is also known as the "City of Eternal Spring" because of its always mild climate. During the tour you will visit San Antonio Park, San Ignacio Square, the traditional Avenida La Playa, the Coltejer Building and the Sculpture Park, where more than 20 sculptures by the famous artist Fernando Botero are exhibited. 12 Medellin - Flight to Santa Marta - Tayrona National Park.

Transfer to your accommodation in Tayrona National Park. In due time, we will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to the airport for your flight to Santa Marta. A driver will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel on the edge of the Tayrona National Park. The first afternoon on the Caribbean coast will be used to acclimatize after the two-day trip.

He will take you to Santa Marta, where you will board a colectivo bus that will take you to Cartagena to your hotel. Cartagena has a special atmosphere - the colonial old town with its meter-high walls contributes to this as much as the Caribbean influence and the cheerful inhabitants. The city is described as the most beautiful port city in America.

Option A: Full day excursion to the Rosario Islands In the morning you will take a speedboat from the port "Muelle Santa Cruz" to the "Islas del Rosario". After arriving at Majagua Island, you will first have a delicious fruit cocktail. Afterwards, there is time to swim and relax on the sandy beaches of the small island. In the morning we continue to St. Martin Island, where you visit the natural underwater zoo and have two refreshments. Afterwards, the trip continues back to Majagua Island where, after a typical lunch, there is again time to relax, swim and snorkel in the sea. In the afternoon we return to Cartagena.
Option B: Full day city tour This fascinating excursion begins with a visit to the fortress "San Felipe", the monastery "La Popa" and the monument "Zapatos Viejos".
