Day 1: Bogota
Arrival at the international airport "El Dorado" en Bogota. Our team welcomes you at the airport and takes you to the hotel.
Day 2: Bogota
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we will visit the city and its main attractions. We will start by visiting the Plaza de Bolivar, where most emblematic buildings of the country were built: the cathedral, the courthouse, the town hall, the presidential palace (residence of the president) and the national Capitol Hill. Then, we will go to the gold museum, very famous for its unique collection of more than 30.000 objects in pre Colombian gold. After that, we will walk through the beautiful streets of "La Candelaria", a neighbourhood that has kept the architecture of the colonial time, until we reach La Quinta de Bolivar, where liberator Simon Bolivar used to live. To finish, we will climb up to Monserrate, using the funicular. This is the peak of the city, from where the view is superb. The afternoon will be free for everyone to explore the city at his own pace.
Day 3: Bogotá - Medellín
Today, our guide Marianito will introduce us to the "paisas", inhabitants of Antioquia. We will use the metro and the funicular and walk through la Plaza Botero. We will visit Medellín, the neighbourhood of Nutibara, the little village of Paisa, the park of "los pies descalzos", the Alpujarra, the Avenida playa, the park Bolivar, the botanical garden, the Barrio El Prado... We will then go back to the hotel and have dinner.
Day 4: Medellín - San Jeronimo - Sopetran - Santa Fe de Antioquia
Breakfast. We will leave for San Jerónimo and Sopetran, enjoying the beautiful view on the western tunnel. We will visit the western bridge, then the historic heritage of Santa Fe de Antioquia. Lunch. The afternoon will be calmer, as we will spend it in a leisure park with many green spaces. Accommodation in Santa Fe de Antioquia.
Day 5: Santafe de Antioquia - Medellín
Breakfast. After a trip in motorcycle taxi, we will have the possibility to use the swimming pool in the hotel, or to go for a walk in Medellín.
Day 6: Medellín - Cartagena de Indias
Early flight to Cartagena. We will then start the city tour of the walled city of Cartagena de Indias. We will learn a lot about Cartagena. The colonial city, surrounded by a wall of 11 kilometres, has many historic buildings and monuments to visit. After that, we will walk through Gethsémani district. The impressive fort San Felipe is located on a hill, from which the view on the city and on the Caribbean Sea is beautiful. We will end the day by visiting "La Boquilla", a famous neighbourhood. At night, we will have the opportunity to visit the city by bus.
Day 7: Cartagena de Indias - Tour to the Islands del Rosario
Transport in outboard (about an hour to reach the islands). Panoramic tour of the 27 islands of archipelago "Corales del Rosario" with a professional guide. We will make a stop at the Aquarium for an hour, for those who want to see the show of dolphins, sharks, rays, groupers, barracuda... Buffet lunch. We will then spend the afternoon on the enchanted island, where we will rest and enjoy the different facilities, such as hammocks, huts, sun loungers, leisure zones (tennis table, tennis and playground), private beach, swimming-pool...
Day 8: Cartagena de Indias - Volcán Totumo
This trip includes the transport (about 45 minutes from Cartagena), the mud bath (fangotherapy), the lunch (coconuts, rice, fried fish, fried plantain bananas, salad, drinks...) on a typical beach called Manzanillo del Mar, where we will relax and enjoy the time spent on the beach.
Day 9: Cartagena de Indias - Santa Marta - Parque Nacional Tayrona
We will enjoy our breakfast on the last Caribbean paradise. After a cultural tour of Cartagena, we will go to Santa Marta, the pearl of the Caribbean. At night, we will enjoy the sunset.
Day 10: Parque Nacional Tayrona
After an hour-drive, we arrive at the national park of Tayrona, close to Canaveral. We will walk an hour through the forest to reach our accommodation. The road goes up and down until the beach of Arrecife. This beach of white sand is beautiful, but it isn't possible to bathe there (the closest beach is at about 15 minute-walk). In the afternoon, we will relax on the beach or walk towards other bays. The national park is ideal for nature-lovers, with its waters turquoise and beaches of white sand. At night, we will sleep in tents in the national park.
Day 11: Parque Nacional Tayrona - Santa Marta
In the morning, we will go to Santa Marta. We will go and visit the harbour and the historic centre of the city. The rest of the day is free to relax or go for a walk along the beach.
Day 12: Santa Marta - Bogotá
International flight to your home country.
